We are pleased to announce the opening of the 8th Call for the Formative Assessment of Soil Projects (FASP). Between July 22 and September 20, organizations and project developers are invited to submit projects focused on soil health and soil organic carbon sequestration for assessment.

FASP supports continuous improvement by providing constructive, science-based feedback tailored to your project's stage of development. Whether you are developing a new idea, preparing a funding proposal, or implementing an existing project, the assessment helps identify strengths, address gaps, and enhance the project's contribution to soil health.
- Conception stage: Develop a robust project concept before seeking funding or partners. The assessment helps clarify objectives, strengthen the scientific basis, identify relevant partnerships, and refine the overall project design.
- Proposal stage: Strengthen an existing project proposal by improving its scientific foundation, demonstrating alignment with the "4 per 1000" Strategy, and increasing its credibility for potential funders and partners.
- Ongoing projects: Fine-tune the soil health and soil organic carbon components of your project through expert scientific advice. The assessment helps strengthen alignment with the "4 per 1000" Strategy, identify opportunities to increase project impact, and enhance visibility. Selected projects may also benefit from greater exposure through the Initiative and enhanced opportunities for collaboration with partners and funders.

Proposals and projects which meet the “4 per 1000” experts assessment criteria will benefit from increased visibility and enhanced opportunities for collaboration with partners and funders.
Positively assessed projects will:
- Receive a formal letter of support from the “4 per 1000” Initiative.
- Be promoted through the Initiative's website, social networks, electronic platform, and events; reaching a broad multistakeholder community on soils around the world, including potential partners and funders.
