SoilCarbon4Climate: Pathways and solutions for soil carbon in temperate regions - Presentations and photos available now!

The SoilCarbon4Climate Conference took place from September 11 to 13 in Berlin, hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and organized by the Federal Office for Agricultrue and Food and the international “4 per 1000” Initiative. As the first conference dedicated to soil health and soil carbon sequestration in temperate regions, it gathered experts from across the temperate climate zone to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration. The program featured presentations, discussions, workshops, and an excursion to partner farms of the German Humus Programme, offering rich opportunities for learning and networking around sustainable soil management.

This year, the international "4 per 1000" Initiative celebrates its first ten years of multi-stakeholder action and advocacy for healthy and carbon-rich soils. A lot has been achieved during the last decade, but much remains. Looking back and moving forward, we count on your input to help us evaluate our achievements and to identify the most critical levers the Initiative should focus on in the decade to come.
