We are pleased to announce that the 7th Call for the Formative Assessment of Soil Projects (FASP) has now concluded. Of the five projects evaluated, two successfully met the FASP criteria by demonstrating strong alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the "4 per 1000" vision and have received the endorsement of the "4 per 1000" Initiative. The other participating projects were provided with detailed advice on opportunities for project refinement.
The MENA Regenerative Agriculture Venture Programme is an accelerator supporting research, scientific, and nature-based innovations through learning journeys, bootcamps, mentorship, grants, and incubation opportunities to advance regenerative agriculture across the region.
Focused on challenges such as arid landscapes, soil degradation, desertification, and water scarcity, the programme has attracted more than 660 registrations from 65 countries and over 80 academic institutions since its launch in December 2023.
The HURISOIL project aims to restore soil fertility, strengthen the climate resilience of vulnerable rural communities, and promote sustainable agricultural practices in western Cameroon. Led by HURIFBA – Human Rights and Forest Brain Africa, the initiative combines land regeneration, agroecology, community reforestation, and environmental education.
The project promotes carbon sequestration through composting, mulching, cover crops, and organic matter management while providing training and resources for rural women, youth, and people with disabilities.
